Our client based in Portsmouth, Hampshire is a leading design and manufacturer of electronic and safety systems across the aviation and marine sectors. Due to continued expansion our client is now looking for a Programme Manager to join their existing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution and completion of large customer accounts.

This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to join an established company and, although not essential, could be well suited for a person who has previously served in the Armed Forces i.e. Army, Royal Navy or Royal Air Force (RAF) and has previously worked within a similar role as a Programme Manager.

It is essential for this role that you are fluent in both English and French due to the nature of their business and customers.

- The successful candidate will be responsible for managing from start to completion.
- Responsible for partnering with the internal team (strategy, creative, implementation, new business and finance) to ensure that work is delivered on time and to budget.
- Developing and shaping programs, managing and building long term client relationships and understanding the “big picture” in branding.
- Primary point of contact for customer and voice of the organization to customer on existing and follow on programs.
- Responsible for the planning and successful execution of all internal or customer funded development and production programs.
- Write and manage of scope of work and program timeline, establish a work breakdown structure for each program / proposal.
- Identify & manage risk and opportunities to meet program objectives.
- Report, document and communicate project status, success, reliability, client satisfaction and requirements to the management.
- Write meeting reports and distribute to team.
- Participate in new business calls as appropriate to help developing the business.
- Run client status calls, attend client conference calls, present findings and participate with other teams in meetings or client calls.
- Work with team to determine changes to program scope and implications for budget.
- Constantly look for new business within existing or potential opportunities.

Applicant Requirements:
- The successful candidate must hold BS in Engineering, MS and/or MBA preferred, and have a proven working background within programme management.
- Experience in running military or aerospace programmes / projects requiring significant customer interaction, program control and execution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully with demanding customers, difficult schedules and technically challenging projects.
- Program management skills must include: planning and budgeting, schedule development, change control, risk mitigation and financial performance / earned value.
- Excellent written and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly and competently convey program objectives and priorities to the program team and the organization.
- Leadership and interpersonal skills with the experience to run programs in a matrix organization.
- Knowledge of Search & Rescue environment would be advantageous.

- Circa £50,000 annual salary.
- Monday – Thursday 8am – 4.30pm and Friday 8am – 1pm.
- 25 days holiday plus 8 stats.
