Assystem Energy & Infastructure LTD are an Award Winning International Engineering Design Consultancy who provide innovative and cutting edge solutions. We have a number of UK based offices and a significant, loyal client base.

As Lead/Senior Engineer you will be required to work as part of a team, issuing duties and day to day management of 100+ Mechanical Engineers, in addition to contributing to an in house design team, self-delivering critical path engineering packages within the supply chain.

Main Job Function
* You will support the project throughout all the delivery phases of design, procurement, construction, commissioning and beyond into active operational ramp up of the plant.
* Integrate with the existing mechanical IC team, bringing previous demonstrable experience in the delivery of full life cycle solutions for significant major projects.
* Project Delivery support function, schedules, estimates, monitoring and reporting, risk management and project management.

To be effective in this role you will require resilience, strong leadership and coordination skills, with the ability to manage priorities and demands.

Knowledge and Experience

* Knowledge and delivery of Project Delivery Lifecycles.
* Project Delivery support function, schedules, estimates, monitoring and reporting, risk management and project management.
* Experience in managing a design team of in-house and supply chain design engineers
* Demonstrable experience of delivering previous significant/major projects through all phases of design delivery and support through to finalised delivery of operating plants.
* Demonstrable background in delivery of Mechanical Handling Plants, with areas of experience preferably including Cranes, Bogies and lifting equipment, robotics, 3m3 container handling and transfer
* Vertical Shield & Containment door design
* PA / PSA Door Design (including Mechanical aspects of Access Control Systems)
* Knowledge of industrial robot applications in active environments
* Understanding of NEC3, Works Information and performing the role of Employer.
* Awareness of relevant national and international codes, specifications, standards and legislation relevant to Mechanical design.
* Working level understanding of CE Marking
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Pragmatic approach to problem solving and ability to apply 'Engineering Fit for Purpose Judgement' where appropriate.
* Must be prepared to provide multiple site attendance at short notice to respond to high priority issues, including Cumbria and the north east.
* Commitment to challenging practices to ensure fit for purpose design delivery.
* Commitment to working collaboratively with a number of different stakeholders, including EPCC contractor, DSA, Construction Team, Commissioning Team, Pre Operations Team etc

* Hold professional registration to CEng
* Minimum BSc/BEng Engineering (Mechanical).

Security clearance:

Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance.
SC Clearance is preferred, P1 or P4 pass holder would be preferable also
