We are currently recruiting for a Proposal Management Engineer to join our Highly Successful Proposal Management Team in Crewe.
You will support the Standard Plants Product Line, leading bidding activities in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India (EMEAI). You will also support the regional commercial leads in winning profitable business with proper scoping and estimating, and communication of capital, technical, execution and operational risk. Opportunities are based on the Standard Plants product offerings which includes small O2, N2 and H2 generators. Projects handled by the Standard Plants Engineering Team range in typical value of $300k - $10MM.


As a Proposal Management Engineer, you will be accountable for:

* Display of leadership and courage throughout the proposal development phase, holding functional support accountable to commitments, and managing the expectations of internal partners.
* Drive competitiveness in Standard Plants offerings, as well as each individual proposal to support winning business for Air Products.
* Collaborate in developing winning strategies in conjunction with the commercial areas, Engineering Product Owners and Functional Engineering teams.
* Understanding the commercial implications of the details of each estimate, making business critical decisions to drive competitiveness of the proposal.
* Own and maintain the costing tools, and other project development tools used to estimate projects, and develop proposals.
* Champion risk management efforts in the project development phase, identifying risks and opportunities, and recommending mitigating strategies in documented risk management plans.
* Manage the use of Sales Expense funding for proposal development, to minimize cost impact to the regional business area.
* Ensuring that Engineering Standards, Engineering Procedures, and Work Instructions are understood, followed consistently, and improved upon where necessary.

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
* Proven experience in a similar work environment
* Previous project development, project engineering, or product development/ownership/management experience preferred
* Demonstrated strong leadership skills, with the ability to be assertive, persistent, and hold people accountable to commitments
* Strong organisational and administrative skills
* Demonstrated strong skills in the use of Microsoft Excel (required) and Microsoft Share Point (desired)
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills,
* English language proficiency (written and verbal) is required
* Ability to work effectively with a global team, interfacing with team members in various countries, as well as management in the US
* Ability to work independently, being accountable for accomplishing work with minimal supervision
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to take initiative with an entrepreneurial attitude
* High degree of knowledge/understanding of Global Engineering and Manufacturing work practices. (Engineering, Design, Fabrication, Construction)
* Previous roles offering experience in cryogenic and non-cryogenic air separation, and / or adsorption processes would be beneficial
