General Overview

To carry out all To support the Estates Team by providing direct assistance and undertaking routine maintenance tasks as allocated.

· Participating in a rotational shift pattern, providing a 24/7 attendance on site.

· The responsibilities will mainly be at the Boiler house but will also include duties at the Acute hospital ,Mental Health unit and Retained Estate

· To undertake any reasonable duties directed by a Manager ,Supervisor/ Charge Hand, client help desk to maintain all services to the NHS Trust(s)

· To undertake any allocated jobs as directed by the Manager ,Supervisor, and Helpdesk ensuring that all associated paperwork is completed in a satisfactory, accurate and prompt manner.

· Work alone with minimum supervision or within a team to carry out routine maintenance, repair, sampling, and cleaning activity across the site. This may be attached to either of the three core sections (Mechanical, Electrical and Fabric).

· To integrate and communicate effectively with contractors and electrical, mechanical and building services staff. To carry out general duties including support by manual labour for relocations and moves, tidying and cleaning Estates areas and Plant rooms.

· Drive the company vehicle as required to meet the needs of the service.

· To carry out PAT testing after training has been successfully undertaken.

· To respond promptly and efficiently to breakdowns, blockages and sampling requirements.

· Required to attend training programmes as necessary to meet contract requirements and for self-development purposes.

· Required to participate in over-time work from time to time as necessary to meet the requirements of the service.

· To comply with contract and Company Policies and Procedures.

· Undertake water systems maintenance as required to meet contract needs.

· To fulfil Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company's Health & Safety Policy Statement, Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments and Zero Harm.

· To support and practice the Company's Quality and Environmental Policies and Mission Statement (Respect, Excellence, Team Work and Integrity).

· To support and practice the Company’s Customer Care Philosophy to ensure customer satisfaction.

· To follow the Company's Equal Opportunity Policies in relation to other staff, customers and members of the Group, at a level appropriate to the post.

To undertake such other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as may reasonably be required within the Department.

Qualifications or Required Experience:

· Experience of working in a boiler house although training will be given.

· Already accredited or be willing to work towards obtaining a BOAS qualification.

· Good general maintenance knowledge.

· Experience of operating steam generating plant and steam distribution systems.

· Conscientious and reliable.

Financial Package

Salary: Basic £18K - £20K plus £4K Shift Allowance

Training provided towards BOAS.

Role Type: Temporary to Permenant.
