Member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team involved in New Product Introduction, Process Improvements, and Project Management in addition to core tasks of sample and, quotation preparation and design work with automotive customers. Balancing time between on-site supporting customer and interacting with other members of the Production and Sales team.
This person is a key interface between the customer and manufacturer, working with prestigious and reputable automotive clients. During product launches, there will be regular visits to the customers’ sites and on a day to day basis they will remain a key contact. Customer facing skills are essential, along with a calm and pragmatic approach.
 Liaise with the Customer to develop new and improve current products
 Interpret customer drawings for serial production and work with operations team for highest quality/lowest cost process
 Support all aspects of production process improvement
 Conduct continuous improvement tasks 5S, visual management and lean methodology
 Prepare project status reports by collecting, analysing and summarising information and trends, recommending actions
 Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
 Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
 Excellent knowledge of visualisations software such as Auto Desk Inventor
 Requirements analysis, project management, manufacturing methods and procedures, process improvement, technical understanding, documentation skills, CAD, CAD/CAM, cutting/pressing of composite materials technology.
 Understanding of PSW/PPAP methodology.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
 Engineering qualification BSc 2:2 or equivalent
 2D and 3D CAD software skills, ideally Autodesk Inventor
 Ability to deliver timely solutions under pressure
 Experience with Lean Management
 Able to work independently to a high standard
 Organised and methodical approach to projects
 Excellent communication skills at all levels of the business
 Using SAP or similar planning software
 Working with flexible composite materials
 Hands-on Prototyping
 Experience of Automotive Vehicle Program Launch and Gateways
 Experience of Automotive interior or exterior trim is highly desirable
