Data Scientist - Tech Start-Up - Equity
Data Scientist required to join a tech start-up in Glasgow who have ambitious plans for 2018 as they roll out their one of a kind AI product. This is a truly unique opportunity to help shape the technical direction of a company which is completely driven by data analytics. In other words, you aren't joining a data science team, you are joining a data science organisation. The Company: Spearheaded by a team of industry experts, this organisation has developed a product which helps solve real business problems using complex machine learning algorithms. Based in the heart of Glasgow in an impressive work space, they have put a real emphasis on building a close-knit team, with a stellar culture. The Role: As one of the first Data Scientists into the team, you will work closely with the CTO (who developed the initial product) and the current Data Scientist who has been integral in driving it forward. They want someone who is keen to make their mark, push boundaries and put into practice what you have learnt in your education. On a day to day basis, you will be building a wide range of complex machine learning models to help continue the progression of this cutting-edge product. The Tech Stack & You: To be successful in this role you will likely have a strong academic background with an MSc or PhD in a highly numerate subject, for example: Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science or similar. You will be naturally inquisitive, with the ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing start-up environment - it is not for everyone! From a technical stand point, it is likely you will be comfortable with most of the following: ** Python / R / MATLAB ** Machine Learning / Neural Networks / SVM / Data Mining / Unstructured Data Analysis / NLP / Random Forests / Decision Trees ** Understanding of relational databases and any SQL knowledge would be a bonus ** Python Libraries / Packages: scikit-learn / Pandas / NumPy / SciPy ** Statistics / Bayesian / Regression Analysis / Predictive Modelling / Linear Regression / Statistical Modelling This is truly unique opportunity and amongst all the other roles in Scotland, where data science or data analytics is very much just a buzz word - this role and indeed company, really stand out. Package: The salary on offer for this role is flexible, they are more interested in getting the right person for the job. As a rough guide, we are looking at between £30-60k depending on experience, qualifications and what you can bring to the table.
