Technical Lead (MNT Team)
Key Responsibilities: Provide technical guidance and coordination for a national collaborative research initiative into alternative Powertrain developments Take responsibility for their own, and their team’s, tasks and outputs Ensure activity outcomes and associated work plans are delivered Deliver high quality engineering services to affiliates and partners Produce high-quality research reports and/or publications as required Plan and deploy commercialisation plans Protect and exploit arising intellectual property Disseminate knowledge to affiliates and the wider community Ensure compliance within internal processes such as Health and Safety Author research proposals to secure Industrial and Public funding Actively develop appropriate external contacts to facilitate future collaboration and funding opportunities Lead a proactive and energising engagement with affiliates, and forge the generation of ideas to increase affiliates’ commitment Provide technical guidance to other project contributors Disseminate interim and final results through project reviews and wider presentations Essential Skills Required: Knowledge of manufacturing quality systems, methods and practices Confident in leading workshops and high-level meetings Knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes Confident in presenting new ideas and concepts to stakeholders or to the wider public A working knowledge of factory and shop floor design Knowledge of process capability and material flow Knowledge of productivity and lean manufacturing Able to assess suitability of designs for manufacturing Ability to project manage and coordinate people Confident in working with customers and suppliers up to senior level Can work independently and in team environments A high level of motivation, initiative and creativity A flexible approach to cope with frequent change Good written and spoken English Experience Required: Manufacturing experience Experience in leading a team of engineers Experience of new product introduction within manufacturing Experience of failure mode avoidance tools Education Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, or Industrial/Manufacturing engineering or equivalent Additional Information: Health insurance Employer pension contribution Semi-flexible working hours A chance to work on the latest research projects and collaborate with leading universities and OEM's ======================================================================== Do not miss out on your chance of interview – APPLY NOW!
