Position Overview The Cloud Systems Engineer is an exciting role that has one foot planted in Deployment of Customer Cloud Applications and the other in DevOps, Automation and Network Engineering of Fabrix, Hutchinson Networks own public cloud platform. Customer facing activities will include pre-sales for cloud developments, support for existing deployments, webinar interaction with customers, POC deployments and other general end customer interactions. Platform development will be focused on supporting the requirements of the product development roadmap. This will include working on the full Fabrix hardware stack and interfacing with Fabrix DeOps and Development Engineers. The scope will change on a project by project basis and will include device configuration, architectural/design input and testing. The Cloud Systems Engineer is expected to act as a team member, liaising with the Principal Architect and other colleagues on projects as assigned. They will also be responsible for delivering and owning issues, tasks and solutions for the business. High-quality task delivery and ownership within pre-defined timescales will be crucial to the success of the role. Essential Duties / Responsibilities: · Pre-Sales for cloud migration and implementation projects. · Customer POCs within Fabrix. · Deployment of solutions within cloud or virtualization. · Support for Fabrix Services and key customer accounts. · Contribution towards Fabrix development roadmap and service enhancement. · Work to resolve issues within Fabrix architecture. Essential Education / Experience: · Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Networking (or other related engineering discipline), or equivalent work experience. · Previous experience building or designing of cloud services. · Linux Systems Administration. · Windows Server Systems Administration. · Understanding of Cloud Application Delivery including load balancing and security. · Experience with IP Networking. · Familiar with the principles of Network Security. · Experience with VMware ESXI and vCenter. Desired Education / Experience: · AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Above. · Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate – Azure or Above. · Cisco CCNA or Above. · Python Development Framework exposure. · Exposure to Software defined networking, i.e Cisco ACI. · Understanding of Network Storage. · Understanding of web application protocols and standards including HTTP, HTTPS, TLS, Java script. · Experience in Docker and containerization. · Experience in working with open source components and projects. · Experience using Github or other code repository’s. Skills and Competencies: · Solution assessment and analysis, accurate identification of the level of effort for tasks. · Technical risk analysis. · Excellent organizational skills with the ability to team with others to develop and implement complex networking projects. · Strong ability to work within a fast-paced and high pressured environment. · Ability to learn new technologies · Solid analytical skills to troubleshoot high-level, complex and technical problems. · Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills. · Ability to work a variety of projects without supervision.
