A Data Scientist required for a growing consultancy in either Glasgow or Aberdeen. The company are looking to expand their Data Science function and require an experienced Data Scientist to take ownership of this. They have offices in both Glasgow and Aberdeen, so the role can be based in either of these locations. The organisation are in the process of expansion and are looking to quadruple their headcount by the end of 2018. They have very strong financial backing and this role is for someone who has a strong client facing ability. They offer flexible working around consultant and client needs and both offices operate in a friendly environment across a flat structure. This position will require some travel to client sites however the company recognise that people have a life outside of work, so try to reduce this as much as possible. Role Overview: ** Understanding of client data landscape and defining this# ** Designing and developing Big Data and cloud technology solutions ** Manipulate and analyse complex, large scale highly dimensional data heterogeneous data sets and apply analytics including classification, clustering and anomaly detection techniques ** Proof of concept engagements **Producing Data Analysis reports ** produce analytical models and data transformations ** Help set the direction of the Intelligence practice, including the vision, strategy and structure Key Skills: ** R or Python ** Experience in the use and application of big data systems (MPP, data mining, HPC, distributed databases, etc.) ** Expert level skill in analysing and manipulating multiple complex data sets; ** Skilled at statistical modelling, predictive modelling or machine learning ** Data Warehousing ability ** Cloud computing knowledge (Azure/AWS) ** Business Intelligence and ETL Development ** SQL and other relational databases This is an opportunity to join a growing consultancy at the early stages of their journey.
