Marketing Assistant

Circa £18,000 to £22,000 per annum

Stevenage, Hertfordshire

The IET is seeking a creative and motivated Marketing Assistant to support the Marketing team with marketing and administrative activities.

Ideally you will have had some experience undertaking marketing activities, both digital and direct, with copywriting and proofreading skills. You will demonstrate attention to detail, be highly organised and be able to carry out your duties with confidence.

The successful candidate will have a creative flair, with excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills. First class written and verbal communication skills are a must!

Main Duties and Responsibilities (summary)

  • To manage marketing incentives and memorabilia.
  • To prepare presentations, reports as appropriate using PowerPoint, Word , Excel.
  • To prepare documentation / correspondence where necessary.
  • To support all team members with specific marketing activities, including co-ordination of key schedules and planning coordination to ensure timely and effective delivery of activity.
  • Co-ordinating the delivery and shipping of conference marketing material (banner stands, flyers, other marketing materials).
  • To update and maintain Marketing policies, procedures and forms.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Demonstrable marketing experience, preferably gained in an academic or business publishing environment with experience of digital and direct marketing
  • The ideal candidate must be highly organised, motivated and confident. You will also have proven ability to work accurately and quickly without supervision; to prioritise and manage a challenging workload and to work on your own initiative
  • Creative flair, attention to detail, with excellent copywriting and proofreading skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • First class written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to undertake occasional travel
  • Demonstrate the IET values of integrity, excellence and teamwork

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a NFP as well as Commercial organisation
