We provide care and rehabilitation for people with a Brain Injury, Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Deafness and Mental Health issues, in addition to a wide range of neurological conditions. • You will work as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team to provide assessment and treatment packages, adopting a recovery-led, and rehabilitation model.
• To independently manage a defined caseload using evidence based/patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions and record all interventions.
• To provide leadership for junior staff.
• To abide by the College of Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and the College of Occupational Therapy Professional Standards for OT Practice.
• To develop skills and knowledge through participation in Professional Development planning to meet the competency framework
• To select and apply Occupational Therapy assessment for a designated caseload, addressing occupational performance skills and deficits enabling the patient in areas of self care, productivity and leisure.
• To work with patients to identify Occupational Therapy goals as part of an overall care plan, taking on the role of Key Worker where relevant
• To plan and implement individual and/or group interventions, in collaboration with the patient, using graded activity to achieve therapeutic goals.
• To monitor, evaluate and modify treatment for patients with multiple needs in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of the intervention.
• To demonstrate a broad level of understanding of the effects of ill health and apply this when making recommendations to address the patients physical, psychological and social needs
• To attend weekly MDT meetings and 3/6 monthly patient review meetings and contribute to discharge planning
• To complete to activity risk assessments to support the facilitation of therapy sessions within and external to the hospital

Essential:
BSc/Diploma in occupational therapy
HCPC registration
Evidence of CPD
Experience working in ASC and Learning Disabilities
3 years post-grad experience
Sensory background ideally
