Head Physiotherapist - Fleetwood Town Football Club

An opportunity has arisen at Fleetwood Town for a Head Physiotherapist.

Salary: Dependant on Experience

Reporting to the Technical Director the purpose of the role is to:

  • Provide a quality, evidence based and accessible Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation service to the Playing staff.

  • Cover all first team matches, training sessions and coordinate a 7 day a week treatment and rehabilitation service.

  • Organise and perform full musculoskeletal screening process for all first team players and provide objective rehabilitation programs on a season basis.

  • Organise and perform a comprehensive pre-signing medical screening in conjunction with the club doctor for all new signings.

  • Alongside the Head Sport Scientist design and implement an evidence based First Team squad fitness testing protocol to measure and evaluate specific key areas of football fitness.

  • Organise the necessary investigations (MRI, X-ray), appointments and coordinate any other forms of specialist treatments (chiropody, podiatry, acupuncture).

  • Provide accurate and reliable injury reports to the management staff.

  • Coordinate and manage other medical employees, including Physiotherapy Students across the entire club.

  • Develop and coordinate a CPD programme for all medical staff, including oneself.

  • Be available for work 7 days a week, to ensure playing staff receive the most efficient and comprehensive medical care possible.

  • Comprehensive and regular updating of the Professional Management Application (PMA) providing for a daily update to the key stakeholders within the club.

  • Responsible for overseeing a departmental budget and ensuring equipment and consumables are ordered and maintained to high standard.

  • Support the recruitment and retention of medical staff across the entire club

Essential Requirements:

  • Chartered Physiotherapist - HPC registered
  • FA Intermediate First Aid for Sport (IFAS) or Intermediate Trauma Medical Management in Football (ITMMif) or equivalent to be approved by the FA.

  • Full clean driving licence

Desirable Requirements:

  • The holder of a Post Graduate Qualification (Sports Physiotherapy related) from a recognised University
  • FA Advanced Resuscitation and Emergency Aid (AREA) or FA Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football (ATMMiF) or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with elite athletes and managing programmes to facilitate their long term athletic development.
  • IT skills to include a high level of competence using Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of the Professional Management Application (PMA)

This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure. The remuneration package includes a competitive salary dependant on experience.
