Salary £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, pro rata

Our client is currently looking to recruit a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join them to play a key role in ensuring that the needs of students with SEN are met through provision of direct support.

Reviewing SEN throughout the College and liaising with parents / guardians, you will support the transition process from the previous school to the College and onwards to their preferred destination; leading a rigorous review process for students with Educational Health and Care Plans (EHCP).

Maintaining accurate records of student progress using all available data and evidence, you must work with staff to develop effective Teaching and Learning strategies, support the teacher on curriculum delivery for those students with SEN and ensuring that the College meets the Statutory Requirements of the SEND Code of Practice.

With a strong understanding of the statutory requirements of legislation concerning Safeguarding, including Child Protection, Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety and SEND Code of Practice 2015, candidates should have a National Award for SEN Co-ordination SENCO qualification and a proven track record of experience of working with students with learning difficulties and disabilities.

The ability to plan and implement an effective teaching programme and Individual Education Plans is essential and you must also have an enthusiasm, passion and dedication to promoting and providing an environment that will ensure equality of opportunity.
