Our client manufactures and fills added value Fast Moving Consumer Goods supplying the major retailers as well as wholesalers etc from their manufacturing sites in the UK. They currently have vacancies for mechanically biased shift engineers in their Lancashire factory.
Main duties of the role will be to ensure all equipment is maintained to required standards so as to increase machine availability. Where breakdowns occur they must be dealt with promptly and efficiently & within timescales allowed. You will also works closely with line crews to ensure machines perform at optimum speed and produce product to a commercially acceptable quality standard.
Another major responsibility is in assisting the engineering management team in complying with all H&S responsibilities, legal compliance and maintenance management in respect of production lines, services, buildings and all other ancillary equipment.
Supporting production the successful candidate will work a defined 2 shift pattern Monday -Friday -day and back 06:00 to 14:00 & 13:45 to 22:00 week about rotation. Some paid overtime may also be available.
Experience of working in a FMCG manufacturing environment would be beneficial; however recognised mechanical & electrical engineering qualifications are required. The optimum candidate would have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a production maintenance environment with a multi-skill bias and a good level of knowledge, and practical experience. A demonstrable evidence of continuous improvement initiatives would further enhance an application!
