Exciting new opportunity for a legal Training professional to join the London office of a successful, dynamic and forward thinking US law firm. The Professional Development & Training Manager will be a key part of the team responsible for providing skills training and development for Partners, Associates, Trainees and Business Services across the London office. Key responsibilities for the Professional Development & Training Manager will be diverse, including:

  • Assisting with the design of a career development framework that sets out expectations for all junior and mid associates
  • Designing and delivering a programme of skills training to support each stage of career, liaising with external trainers as necessary
  • Working with Trainee supervisors and HR to improve current Trainee training offering
  • Working with the US to support the identification and delivery of relevant L&D initiatives
  • Identifying and implementing innovative and effective learning solutions
  • Creating supporting materials including the design and production of e-learning using online software
  • Working with the Head of L&D to prepare the annual Learning and Development budget for the London office

The ideal candidate for the Professional Development & Training Manager role will have a degree or a relevant qualification, and extensive L&D experience from a law firm or professional services firm. You must have good experience of the design and delivery of face to face training using a variety of imaginative and innovative methods. The ability to develop strong working relationships is essential, as is high level influencing and negotiation skills in order to build trust and respect.
