This is an opportunity to work in Essex for a company that is a leading global provider of outsourced business solutions for the automotive industry. The successful candidate will drive innovation both internally and externally through the maintenance of existing and the development cycle of new software solutions to meet the needs of the business.

This is a hands-on role with a definite coding bias.

Key Skills: BSc or Masters Computer Science, object-oriented programming, software solutions, 10 years Java experience

Location: Colchester

Salary: £65k DOE

The successful candidates must be able to think creatively with evidence of having the ability to confidentially and clearly communicate complex technical information to colleagues. Ideally the candidate would have project management experience. It is essential to have a strong understanding of object-oriented programming.

Eligible to work in UK (NB Client is unable to provide sponsorship)

It is essential the successful candidate has a degree or Masters in Computer Science or a related subject

To be successful you must be able to demonstrate your knowledge, skills and experience with:

JEE technologies - EJB / Servlet / Spring MVC / JSP / FreeMarker etc

Server technologies - JBoss, Tomcat, Websphere, Glassfish, Geronimo, Apache, Linux

RDBMS - Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, MYSQL

Integration technologies - JMS / Web Services (REST / SOAP)

Relational Mapping Tools - Hibernate / JPA / Toplink

Build Tools (Maven, Ant, Gradle)

Big Data technologies - NoSQL Databases (Mongo / CouchDB / Neo4j), Hadoop (HDFS / Spark / PIG / HIVE / Sqoop)

Analytics - Mahout, WEKA, Tableau, Clikview, Alteryx

Database programming - PLSQL / TSQL, Packages / Functions / Procedures
