I am currently recruiting for a high profile engineering/manufacturing company based in Sheffield who are currently looking for a Heat Treatment Operative to join their busy team.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

*Conduct the Special Processes Operations, as required, across Arconic sites in any of the following areas - Heat treat loader, shot blast, bore blast, Brinell, Fettling, FLT capability and Finish Marking
*Work to the agreed Standard Operating Procedures - Methods of Manufacture as outlined in the quality manual and achieving departmental criteria
*Ensure that maximum throughput is maintained at all times by reporting breakdowns to maintenance, using the correct reporting and logging process
*Be fully aware of the departmental Key Operating Targets
*The loading and unloading of vehicles, where trained and applicable, inclusive of moving product/raw materials around the business
*Ensure all information in relation to completed work is correctly compiled, stamped and booked off in accordance with company requirements
*Ensure that WIP is completed as required on a daily basis
*Maintain the daily Total Productive Maintenance programme and support the Business Improvement Ideas programme
*Complete daily equipment and Safety checks in line with company procedures
*Ensure furnaces are programmed, charged and discharged according to the correct SOP's
*Ensure the best utilisation of furnaces following the production schedule
*Ensure that data entry, Tropos and heat treatment log book are correctly administered
*Maintain the daily PPM /TPM programme
*Embrace any new process/training that improves the productivity of the business
*Use of Horizontal plant furnaces to heat treat material to correct specification
*Use of vertical plant furnaces to heat treat material to correct specification
*Safe build and stripping of charges
*Hardness testing to ensure product meets required standard
*Any other adhoc duties as required

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

* Knowledge of metal grades
* To be a team player
* Flexible approach to work
* Knowledge & understanding of how job role can impact on environment
* Proactive in complying with Company Environmental Policy
* Ability to demonstrate safe working in line with Safe systems of work
* Proactive in encouraging others to do same
* Minimum of 6 months experience of working in a Heat Treatment
* Department is preferred but not essential
* Trained in Manual Handling techniques
* Licenses for Craning & Slinging, Side loader & FLT
* Basic knowledge of Heat Treatment processes
* Basic training in Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
