My client - the UK’s only fully integrated provider of home phone, mobile, broadband, gas and electricity services are currently recruiting for a Graduate analysts to join their Energy team.

What you will actually do:

  • Tracking changes to communications product portfolio using a variety of factors including; mix of payment method and billing type, usage levels, customer demographic and any other relevant factors; highlighting trends and identifying opportunities;
  • Gather business intelligence across the business and the wider competitive market place;
  • Produce regular and as and when required ad-hoc business reports in order to support decision making;
  • Provide insight and commentary about changing customer habits and behaviour, cross referencing multiple sources of data both internal and from external sources;
  • Helping solve problems that are likely to be varied with no clear guidelines for solution;
  • Take decisions using a good level of independent thought and a pragmatic approach;
  • Tracking changes to the overall competitor landscape including tracking of regional price changes and competitor promotions;
  • Liaising with third parties to track down relevant external sources of data for use in analysis;
  • Communicate both up and down the management ladder, keeping stakeholders informed of relevant information;
  • Become a centre of excellence around data, providing knowledge and support to other areas of the business as required;

What you will need:

  • Recent graduate with proven analytical skills such as 2:1 and above Maths degree or degree including Statistics module(s) or similar
  • Knowledge of SQL and financial modelling - desirable
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Excellent communication skills (particularly in written content production)
  • Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage own time and prioritise tasks accordingly, often working to strict deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent numeracy understanding with strong emphasis on financials
  • Ability to build relationships with a wide variety of people
