Graduate Mechatronics Product Design Engineer
The Opportunity: We are looking for an engineering honours graduate to design and build a prototype food waste processing product for the expanding food waste market. Employed and supervised by the University of Sheffield, you will be working for Bergmann Direct Ltd, the UK's leading supplier of waste compaction equipment at their Lincoln base.
Qualifications and Skills: You must have a good degree in either mechatronics, electronics, electrical control engineering or mechanical engineering, supported by relevant industrial project management and practical skills to successfully deliver designs (including programming, CAD, control panel construction in mains voltage to UK safety standards), manufacture and bring to market.
Presentation and communications skills will be critical as well as the proven ability to analyse and solve problems through creative and integrative approaches. Finally, an understanding of the commercial aspects of decisions will be critical to the project's success.

The project is for a fixed term of 24 months. A successful outcome may lead to further development within Bergmann Direct or with the university of Sheffield.
