  • Finance Manager - Logistics

    Overall Purpose of Job:

    Responsible for all financial controlling and accounting activities for the UK Logistics and Distribution divisions. Production of accurate and timely customer management accounts on weekly and periodic basis as well as KPIs. Completion of ACS UK month end trading, ensuring full reconciliation to customer invoices and submission of relevant reports. Work closely with the site management teams to ensure accuracy of cost and KPI data capture and ensure all financial process and controls are in place and adhered to.

    Line Manager, ACS UK management, Logistics & Distributions management, Logistics & Distribution clients.

    Responsible For:

    • Finance and accounting all Logistics and Distribution contracts.

    Key Tasks:

    • Production of weekly management accounts and associated variance analysis and KPI reports
    • Production of customer periodic accounts and reporting pack
    • Customer facing role - delivery of financial performance at customer reviews when applicable (open book customers)
    • Accurate completion of ACS month end trading with full reconciliation of costs vs. customer invoices for all contracts
    • Production of customer budgets with full analysis to current spends and forecast
    • Production of ACS budgets and forecasts with relevant variance analysis
    • Ensure relevant financial controls are in place, understood by wider management team and adhered to
    • Responsible for integrity of financial audits - internal, external and customer
    • Overall responsibility for auditing site payroll process including accuracy of data capture and reconciliation of outputs to customer charges
    • Development of financial reporting models to support site management team to fully understand weekly cost performance and highlight areas for improvement
    • Supporting site Process Improvement reporting and cost data capture
    • Line management responsibility for a small team - performance management and developmentDistribution:
    • Align with Head Office Finance Team to ensure Distribution "accrued" accounts are managed and released to a realistic timescale
    • Distribution: Review Distribution financial controls and develop simplified future processes for cost and income management
    • Distribution: Process compliance auditing (spot checking) of agreed processes for cost and income management

    Key Requirements:

    • Experience in accounting management of a number of open and close books accounts in logistics and transport arena.
    • Familiar with putting together budgets for operations in logistics and transport industries
    • Able to challenge operations and also to be challenged
    • Hands-on approach with limited support
    • General Secondary Education to GCSE standard
    • Fully qualified or studying towards recognised finance qualification (e.g. CIMA/ACCA)
    • Proficiency Microsoft Excel skills
    • Previous experience of finance/accounting systems
