Just Life Sciences are the leading Independent Life Sciences Specialist, and we are looking for a talented and experienced EHS Manger who has worked within a Pharmaceutical Manufacturer, or a GMP and regulated industry.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing site processes and procedures with emphasis on health and safety, legislative regulatory and business requirements. In this role, you will work with all departments and operations personnel ensuring business and regulatory compliance to all aspects of EHS.

You will have worked previously in a regulated environment and been used to managing your own time and implementing a first class EHS culture.

Your responsibilities will be to

•Install and foster proactive EHS-conscious culture and drive operational ownership of the Group's Environment, Health & Safety programs through all levels of the organization

•Develop and implement EHS programs to comply with the Group's EHS requirements and regulatory requirements

Monitor and drive completion of site compliance tasks

•Track and lead resolution of the site's Employee EHS Concern Reports (Yellow Card System)

•Coordinate EHS classroom training preparation and delivery and maintain the site's EHS Training Tracker database in conjunction with L & D

•Perform EHS audits / inspections and ensure appropriate corrective actions are developed and implemented on a timely basis

•Lead and/or participate in incident investigations and ensure appropriate root causes are identified and corrective actions are developed / implemented

•Evaluate site EHS risks and challenges and develop appropriate risk reduction strategies, including Risk Assessments, etc.

•Maintain safety and health records and documents required by Group's EHS and applicable regulatory requirements

•Maintain compliance with Health and Safety regulations (UK and EU) including keeping up with changing regulations

•Co-ordinate EHS activities on a site wide basis, ensuring individual departmental managers are aware of their roles and responsibilities in relation to EHS issues

•Liaise with relevant regulatory bodies

•Define and operate within agreed budgetary constraints

•To provide advice and guidance to all departments on matters of EHS

•Manage specific projects (that are within the post holders capabilities)

•Co-ordinate with the Group's global safety team

•Organise and lead internal meetings / groups, and provide clear and concise communication at all levels

•Ensure that internal audits are planned and conducted at appropriate intervals, and all corrective actions are implemented to agreed timescales

•To work effectively with all departments to ensure compliance and cascade of information and responsibility

To co-ordinate activities of the EHS Committee

•Monitoring the effectiveness of the Health, Safety and Environment policies, procedures and practices

•Management information including action updates, reports, audit reports and minutes of meetings

•In consultation with relevant internal teams to ensure changes in processes or new process/raw material introduction is in compliance

•To ensure continuous improvement in area of expertise

•To manage specific projects as and when required in accordance with Job-holders’ capabilities and responsibilities.

You will have substantial experience within an EHS site previoulsy and will be able to demonstrate strong commercial, and Regulatory understanding.

You Qualifications will include

Relevant degree, NEBOSH diploma, IOSH and IEMA member
