My client is an industry-leading manufacturer; they're looking to recruit a Lead / Senior Buyer to join their in-house Purchasing Team.

This position will be based in their impressive UK headquarters which are located in Oxfordshire. They are widely recognised as leaders in their field, providing equipment and services to a long list of blue chip clients.

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the successful candidate will be supporting the Projects operation of the business by providing professional sourcing, tendering, negotiation, contract implementation and project buying services, covering a range of categories.

You'll be required to ensure exceptional quality of service is provided by all selected suppliers, which in turn will ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Expressions of interest are invited from experienced Buyers, Senior Buyers, Lead Buyers and Category Managers etc.
Experience of project purchasing in automotive, FMCG, pharma, logistics, or similar sectors would be highly relevant to this role.

Key responsibilities:

Leading the full procurement process across multiple projects; full project lifecycle
Working closely with all key stakeholders to ensure project timelines and budget constraints are met
Developing and negotiating project tender packages, preparing contracts and procurement services
Analysing quotations, leading negotiations, all in order to develop robust, commercially competitive package bids
Analysing tenders for compliance with project requirements, creating and analysing cost comparisons and providing supplier recommendations
Working in consultation with the project management team to develop and implement the project procurement strategy
Assembling and issuing contract documentation and service level agreements
Reviewing market place to determine potential alternative products, technologies and vendors
Building, maintaining and managing supplier relationships
Assessing and evaluating suppliers and contributing to performance reviews to ensure contract compliance

You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, and have a proven track record of developing and maintaining professional working relationships with external vendors, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders. Equally as important is the ability to work well in a fast paced projects team. Primarily office based, this role will also require some domestic and (occasional) international travel.
