Polkadotfrog are currently working with a growing organisation (non-agency) based in North Norwich who are seeking a Back End Developer who enjoys working on a large variety or projects delivering several key transformational projects and supporting business critical systems. You will be working with and enhancing various systems and Apps, you will be working on back-end services mainly around API functionality, as well as potentially some front-end and infrastructure elements.

This is a rare opportunity that offers flexibility in all areas, working time, projects and languages you will use. Flexibility is welcomed to take on a wide variety of tasks as directed potentially including some technical design, schema planning, deployment planning, testing, and other roles as needed. Although the projects are predominantly PHP based you will have the chance to work on internal projects that are C# / .NET based on help out on the internal C# applications.

  • Prior commercial experience of PHP
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Able to work as part of a development team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Able to write clear comprehensive documentation
  • Flexible approach to tasks and ability to multi-task
  • Willingness to learn new technologies

Desirable Experience - Not essential:

  • Knowledge / Experience with Microsoft .net Platform
  • Use of frameworks in development
  • Experience with Laravel
  • Experience of API data exchange with JSON
  • Linux server administration experience
  • Experience in cloud-based platforms
  • Experience in using SCM such as GIT
  • Experience in working with third-party developers
  • Experience of working with design agencies
  • Awareness of localisation within software products
  • Knowledge of standard modelling techniques such as UML and ERD
  • Understanding of load balancing and high-availability techniques
  • Familiarity with front-end standards such as Angular and jQuery
