Salary: Starting at £15,000, term time only
Bond Education is working in partnership with an Independent School in Cambridge. The school specialises in provision for children with ASC, specifically high functioning autism and Asperger's syndrome.
With a residential unit at the School, we are looking to appoint Residential Support Workers to assist with the 24/7 needs of pupils in and outside of the classroom.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to make a difference in the lives of live-in students of a Special School.
The post is suited for someone with a care, support or Teaching Assistant background who is looking to utilize all of these strengths in one role.
Working in shift patterns (alternating mornings and evenings - not overnight) successful applications will assist with the before, during and after school activities of the schools' residential pupils.
-Preparing for school in the morning including breakfast, administering any needed medication and getting to the classroom
-Assisting the Lead Teachers throughout daily lessons in terms of assuring residential pupils are engaged and participating to their ability
-Helping with homework and participating in after school activities
-Making dinner, homework help and getting pupils to bed on time
The post will also include:
-Understanding and compliance with Safeguarding, child protection, confidentiality and data protection including the reporting of any incidents to the appropriate individual
-Written reports of pupil behaviour and progress
-Motivation and engagement of pupils in a friendly, caring and enthusiastic manner
