We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Chemistry. We are committed to developing teachers; applications are welcomed from both experienced and newly qualified teachers.
Science is an extremely popular subject with the pupils at Stratford School Academy, with almost a third of pupils selecting Separate Sciences as an option. Pupils enjoy their Science lessons and understand the opportunities that achieving well in Science can offer. All pupils currently study Combined Science at GCSE.
There are lots of jobs for science teachers out there, so why choose this one? Because at Stratford School Academy you will either be a Chemistry Teacher or Physics Teacher and not a general Science teacher. We believe that strong subject knowledge underpins good teaching of the sciences and accordingly Chemists, Physicists and Biologists are best placed to teach excellent lessons in their respective disciplines.
Between 2014 and 2016 Stratford School Academy was rebuilt through the Government's Priority School Building Programme. We now have two brand new buildings each for 750 pupils. In September 2015 we admitted our first 300 strong Year 7 cohort and we will grow to 1500 pupils by 2020. We have not gone for the usual Upper/Lower School split but instead operate two 'mini schools' educating pupils from Year 7 to 11. Our mini school in Upton Lane incorporates a Resource Provision for up to twenty children with Autism; our mini school in Grosvenor Road will develop a complementary specialism in teaching pupils with Speech, Language and Communication needs.
At Stratford School Academy you will find:
- Access to CPD programmes based on progressively introducing proven high impact teaching strategies and techniques through systematic shared practice
- An excellent induction programme for NQTs
- We provide travel loans, parking permit loans and run cycle to work and childcare voucher schemes
- Excellent resources and facilities
- Enthusiastic pupils who are eager to learn with parents who support and value the school
- The chance to be part of a hard-working group of teachers who are serious about maximising the achievement of our pupils and are willing to go the extra mile to make it happen
