Teaching Personnel are working closely with our partner secondary school located in Wigan to recruit for a Teacher of Computer Science. This is a full time position required to start from April 2018. This is a two term position initially but has the potential to go permanent dependant upon effectiveness within the role.
This is a truly fantastic opportunity for a Teacher of Computer Science to join one of the highest performing schools in the authority and work with pupils who has very positive attitudes to learning. Within the role you will be expected to teach Computer Science and IT to Key Stages 3 & 4. You will join a dedicated team within the IT department who strive to make the topic enjoyable for all pupils. The school has four modern IT suites all consisting of 29 PCs with high speed internet access.

At Key Stage 3, all students have a single 1-hour lesson per week covering the Computing Programme of Study. In Year 7 students have an additional hour of ICT skills to aid learning across the school in other areas of the curriculum. At Key Stage 4 students have the opportunity to study for one of 3 courses: GCSE Computer Science, GCSE ICT or Level 2 CIDA, which have all proven to be very popular and engaging courses, with high success rates in the final public examinations.
In its most recent Ofsted report, the school was complimented on the positive learning atmosphere throughout the school and the high standard of teaching which is consistent across all subjects in the school. It is located on the outskirts of Wigan town centre making it easily accessible from all of the surrounding areas such as Chorley, Orrell and Aspull.
