Senior Pyschologist - CAMHS
Primrose and Mulberry wards all offer PICU beds for males and females. The services offer individualised care for young people aged between 13 and 18 who are experiencing a mental health crisis or whose needs mean they cannot be supported in community settings. The services are safe, therapeutic environments with a focus on helping the young person stabilise, so that hospital treatment is no longer required.
As an experienced psychologist you’ll be confident in assessing service users who have a wide range of complex mental health needs. You’ll also supervise and support junior staff.
Providing supervision to Assistant Psychologists and Doctoral Trainees, you’ll make highly specialised assessments and therapy decisions for inpatients with a range of complex mental health needs. Having spent some time in the field, you’ll understand psychological models and their application within a mental health setting, and possess a clear knowledge of legislation and its implications for clinical practice.
With 5 years assessment and intervention experience within a mental health setting with clients present with complex needs including; mental health, violence and offending. You will be registered as a Chartered Psychologist, you may also have post-doctoral training in one or more specialised areas such as post-qualification experience in mental health services or working in secure or forensic services.
