Nursery Deputy Manager & Level 3 Nursery Nurse


Salary £16k - £22k

If you are an experienced Nursery Deputy ,Team leader or 3rd in Charge looking for your next career move, we have a wonderful opportunity for a Nursery Deputy Manager. We need a position as the Deputy Manager who holds a minimum of a level 3 qualification in a relevant early years or childcare qualification to support the Nursery Manager in day to day running of nursery life. You need to have a good knowledge of the EYFS and planning skills so you can deliver great learning opportunities for the children in our care. We are also looking for a Level 3 Nursery Nurse


  • To oversee and deliver a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care and education for children at the Nursery, in line with the Nursery Values and Ofsted Standards
  • To ensure quality of provision.
  • To work with the manager to ensure the nurseries planning and provision of a learning environment, meets the needs of all the children in respect of their care and education.
  • To manage, implement and monitor the childcare system.
  • To support other team members and support the nursery management.

Responsible to:

  • Nursery Manager and Owner

Main Duties:

  • To deputise in the absence of the nursery manager.
  • To work with the manager devising and carrying out a quality planning and evaluation system to meet the requirements of the EYFS within the room.
  • To train and mentor staff.
  • To work with the management team in respect of development and review of the service.
  • To train staff on how to complete quality observations and accurate assessments.
  • To lead on planning and implementing the 2-year integrated review checks working with health professionals, families and key workers.
  • To ensure all practice offers safeguarding of children.
  • Ensure assessments accurately reflect child’s development by working with parents and key workers.
  • To be flexible within working practices of the nursery. Be prepared to help, where needed, including undertaking certain domestic jobs within the Nursery, e.g., preparation of snack meals, cleaning equipment, etc.
  • Work alongside the Manager and staff team to ensure that the philosophy behind the nursery is fulfilled.
  • Respect the confidentiality of information received.
  • To be willing to undertake training and development as may be required.
