Are you a qualified Sociology Teacher looking for your next assignment? Would you like a short term arrangement with a school for 1 term teaching A Level Sociology to a receptive cohort?
At Randstad Education, we have temporary and permanent teaching roles across Essex, in both Primary and Secondary schools. We help both teachers and support staff find short, medium and long term assignments in their fields of expertise, and help them with specific career advice and progression.
We are currently working with a larger than average, Ofsted-graded 'Good' school in the Chelmsford area, who are looking to strengthen their Social Sciences team by appointing a qualified teacher of Sociology, to teach the A Level syllabus, and also if possible teach Year 10 Health & Social Care.
The successful candidate will need:
*to have thorough subject knowledge of Sociology at A Level, with the ability to teach Health & Social Care at GCSE a distinct advantage
*the ability to help students take responsibility for their own learning, by encouraging contribution in classes and by monitoring reaction to feedback and marking
*to be able to differentiate lessons effectively to ensure work is not too easy for the most-able students, and make sure they are being challenged effectively
*to deliver consistently good or better lessons, all the while maintaining a sense of humour and positive attitude
The school can offer good leadership and management, the senior team take a consistent approach to improving the quality of teaching and students' achievement. The students are afforded responsibility around the school, there is a lot of emphasis on peer mentors and students supporting other students, which in turn leads to on the whole good behaviour, a pleasant learning environment and students who take pride in their work.
If you would like to hear more about this or any other opportunities we can offer, please feel free to contact the Chelmsford branch of Randstad Education.
