Due to a gap in the Design Technology department, an exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of a Design Technology teacher with resistant materials experience within this secondary school from Easter until the end of the academic year initially. The incoming teacher will be expected to deliver resistant materials and design technology across the ability range from KS3 to GCSE.

This secondary school has roughly 850 pupils on roll and is easily accessible from the surrounding areas of Rochdale and Manchester. Facilities for learning in Design and Technology are excellent. The faculty has a suite of well equipped wood and engineering workshops. This is a popular subject with students and has a high profile in the school with examples of students’ work exhibited or used throughout the school.

Joining this teaching team as a Design Technology teacher means you would be given the full support of a skilled leadership team where teaching and learning is highly effective. A national leader of education and the local authority have provided sustained support and guidance to the school over a period of time. Their support has included a focus on securing more robust accountability systems and improving leadership at all levels. Some improvements are clearly evident.

Within this improving Rochdale Secondary school, most students are of White British heritage. The proportion of pupils who speak English as an additional language is much smaller than the national average. Located on the outskirts of Rochdale, the School is easily accessible and has direct transport links to the surrounding areas along with key roads and motorway connections.

To apply for this excellent opportunity, you will need to email an up to date CV through to Matt via the link below or alternatively either call the Manchester Secondary Branch for further information.
