A child friendly luxury private members club based at their head office in Victoria are hiring for a Financial Controller.
The Financial Controller’s primary role is to ensure the accuracy of the management accounts, managing the clubs’ finances and being the primary point of contact for the annual audit. The role also includes producing management information as required by the Group Directors. The person will be managing an assistant who is responsible for processing transactions in the system and carrying out basic financial controls.
Specific duties and responsibilities for the Financial Controller:
·Prepare the annual budgets each year to be reviewed by the CFO.
·Produce the monthly financial accounts including the P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash
·Flow Projections for each of the two clubs and on consolidated level. Review the key reconciliations needed for the accounts and ensure the month end timetable is complete and followed.
·Produce management information as required by the CEO/CFO.
·Be the focal point of requests for finance support from the business.
·Prepare salary payrolls and prepare BACS file for review by the CFO
·Prepare the twice-monthly supplier payment runs and prepare BACS file for review by the CFO.
·Monitor the bank accounts on a daily basis and advise the Membership team of any funds received into the bank account that relate to their areas.
·Prepare the audit file, including production of audit lead schedules, for review by the external auditors on an annual basis.
Deal with any queries raised by the external auditors and provide additional information as required.
·Review the debtors report with the Membership Managers of each club.
·Ad hoc financial control improvements where identified.
Qualifications or skills required for Financial Controller:
·Responsive to requests and a good understanding of accounting/bookkeeping (part or, preferably, fully qualified).
·Someone looking for a Group level position in a growing business.
·Knowledge of Sage accounting software useful.
