Product Development Manager – International (CC633-TJ)

Location: UK - Home based with UK & Extensive international travel

£60K - £80K Basic + Bonus + 3% Pension + Healthcare + Laptop + Mobile + 25 Days + Public Holidays + International Travel

(Starting Salary dependent on experience)


My client is a recognised leader operation across the Electron Microscopy sector. Their range of products are used by many of the world’s leading researchers in ground breaking and technologically advanced scientific breakthroughs that will not be seen by the public for many years to come.

Due to continued and sustained growth they now wish to recruit a commercially aware technical sales and application scientist to work alongside their global partners.

POSITIONReporting directly to the Managing Director this role will allow the successful individual to travel extensively across the UK, Europe, Americas & Asia.

You will be responsible for growing my client business through researching new and emerging markets, understanding and developing new products and assisting with the overall product lifecycle management.

Other duties will include:-

  • Researching and monitoring existing client base and industry developments to identify potential new product opportunities.
  • Analysing and interpreting market research across your territories and reporting back to the senior managers.
  • Understanding the need for my client’s products across the Academia, Industrial and Government sectors.
  • Assisting the development of my client’s product portfolio through new functionality for existing products and new products for Identified markets.
  • Providing a clear vision for innovation to the product development and engineering teams.
  • Assisting the engineering team with evaluating and resolving technical feasibility, design optimization, and production issues.
  • Managing and coordinating product development projects to ensure delivery within timescales and agreed budgets
  • Working in close contact with the commercial team to highlight sales opportunities.
  • Liaising closely with other departments to establish a design, technology, product development, and vendor strategy for new products.
  • Providing monthly, quarterly and annual reports to the senior management teams.
  • PERSONThe ideal candidate will be based within a commutable distance of an airport and possess a competent understanding of coaters and related electro mechanical sample prep solutions gained through industry or academia.

    All candidates must hold a valid passport & driving license and be educated to a minimum of degree level within Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or an affiliated discipline and possess a proven ability to operate a Transmission Electron Microscope.

    Along with being technically competent it is essential all candidates possess the interpersonal and communication skills to build lasting relationships through inspiring trust and confidence with customers.Any previous experience in a product marketing/ project management role with a similar product would be highly advantageous.
