IT Project Manager - Maidenhead

My client is an established organisation within the financial industry; they are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to manage IT projects and IT business change projects, ensuring scope, risk, budget, resources and schedules are tracked and changes properly tracked.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the IT projects and project work streams of the Group Change projects, ensuring scope, risk, budget, resources and schedules are maintained with changes assiduously controlled.
  • Be the key controller and driver of project delivery; lead by example and leverage the technical team’s capabilities to create coherent solutions that deliver business benefit
  • Execute against the project governance model and conduct all necessary steering and project reviews with project sponsor, project boards and project teams
  • PMO processes are followed and project reporting is fully maintained
  • Perform ad-hoc governance functions in support of the IT Leadership, e.g. facilitating/leading workshops or governance forums, maintaining portfolio planning.

Key Accountabilities

  • Full project lifecycle management and that all project artefacts are prepared and approved
  • Project budget (project budgets up to £1M): tracking with project spend and forecasting of internal and external costs
  • Ensure Project governance processes are followed and complied with in context of project
  • Stakeholder management: executive sponsors; project board; external senior supplier; external vendors; project teams; subject matter experts
  • Project planning: maintenance of project plans and regular progress reporting
  • Demand Management of project resources: working through resource managers
  • Project change management: including full impact assessment and change approval process
  • Project risk management: aligned with Group risk management processes
  • Compliance with all regulatory frameworks which are in use within the Group
  • Adherence to Group and IT policies

The candidate (Experience, Knowledge, Skills)

  • 3+ years PM experience in an IT department or organisation (e.g. outsource)
  • Strong knowledge of project management tools and techniques
  • Project management methodology qualification (e.g. PRINCE2)
  • Senior stakeholder management experience
  • IT application and infrastructure project delivery experience
  • Change management skills
  • Lateral and flexible thinking, the ability to understand and operate comfortably at a Board Level, with Technical Specialists and all levels and skillsets in between
  • Financial services experience (desirable) or experience of a regulated environment
  • Excellent communication skills including presentation and facilitation
