We have a greatopportunity at HMYOI Wetherby to join theeducation team as a Horticulture Traineron a permanent, part time (29.6hours per week) basis.

The purpose of thisrole is to deliver high quality vocational training to our learners up to alevel 3 standard. This is a challenging but rewarding role and we need someonewho is flexible and resilient, with the ability to encourage, engage andmotivate, to help give children and young people a brighter future.

HMYOI Wetherby in West Yorkshire, is a custodial establishment forYoung People, aged between the ages of 15 and 18. There arecurrently around 280 young people in the YOI with an operational capacity of320. All young people work towards English and Maths qualifications, aswell as ICT, PSD, and vocational pathways which include construction, creativearts, hospitality and catering, business administration, industrial cleaningand horticulture. We also offer an Advice and Guidance service which helps our youngpeople with post release opportunities.

Have experience in your vocational specialism and the ability todeliver this to learners in an engaging and effective way

Be willing to gain PTTLS within six months

Commitment to gain a subject specific qualification to allow youto train to Level 3 within two years

Have a commitment to gain an assessor award required by relevantAwarding Bodies within one year
