Microsoft Accelerator CTO in ResidenceLondon: CTO#OverviewCTO Role Strong engineer who can work closely with cloud startups to architectcomplex and large scale applications on Windows Azure or private cloud. #ResponsibilitiesUnderstand highly technical and often ambiguous startup requirements andbusiness goals and provide input and guidance to impact the customer?ssolution choice and design. The candidate should be energetic, motivated and a self-starter with astrong focus on getting things done. The candidate must be customer driven - clearly capturing customerrequirements and advocating for their success. The candidate should be able to design and build high quality featuresthat are robust, scalable, fault tolerant and supportable. The candidateshould also work well juggling multiple projects with tight deadlinesand ever changing requirements. #QualificationsKEY TECHNICAL SKILLS In terms of technical skills, the following areexamples of the kinds of technical skills that would be great for therole. - Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies, emerging trendsand related technology including knowledge of competitors such as AmazonEC2 and Google AppEngine. - Depth knowledge and experience in large scale, multi-tier, onlineservice architectures - Knowledge of technology trends, industry participants, and leaders inthe developer community - Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and analyticalskills - A blend of curiosity, creativity, persistence, commitment, passion,and optimism - Deep analytical skills, enabling comprehension and development ofcomplex business and technical issues, topics, and plans - Able to articulate pros & cons of design/architecture decisionacross a wide spectrum of factors - e.g. latency, storage,startup/shutdown, etc. - Able to coach and mentor a broad array of startups, mobile internet,cloud infrastructure, enterprise apps. - Able to distill widely variant feedback into root cause issues andprovide actionable feedback to other stakeholders. - Building samples, presentations, tutorials, and other resourcesdesigned to help developers understand how they can take advantage ofWindows Azure services KEY PERSONAL QUALITIES - Ability to handle multiple tasks while balancing short term and longterm needs. - Good communication skills for effective collaboration with others. - Experience with system modeling and architecting large platform levelcomponents. - Demonstrated ability and commitment to deliver features on schedulewith high quality and with engineering discipline.
