Due to sustained contract growth we’re now looking for an experienced Area Service Engineer to support various types of electronic security systems in the South West. This role will be suited to an engineer with extensive experience working on CCTV, Access Control, EAS Equipment, Integrated Software Solutions and Intruder alarm systems.

The Role

This is a field-based role, as a mobile engineer you’ll be assigned jobs & work in collaboration with other engineering staff members and customer service teams to resolve system issues in a timely and professional manor.

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager you’ll be required to maintain an extensive variety of industry products & equipment, train customers on system functionality, troubleshoot and repair product failures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Play a leading role servicing and maintaining regional CCTV (IP), Access Control and Intruder Alarm systems.
  • Comfortable representing the company & engineering department in client environments.
  • Provide regular feedback and advice on service and product improvements.
  • Ability to work independently & exceed customer expectations & organisational objectives.
  • Diagnose system problems in minimal time & make accurate repairs.
  • Highly effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Handle customers in a professional manner during difficult high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent follow through in meeting commitments, deadlines & resolving escalations.
  • Excellent time management & organizational skills to maximize productivity.
  • Resolve technical issues by seeking timely advice or assistance from technical support when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate stock holding & inventory
  • Completion & submission of all relative documentation in a timely manner ensuring its accuracy.
  • Follow up on formal training with self-training
  • Maintain high levels of technical expertise & behaviours through continuous improvement.

The Person

  • Possession of recognised qualification or extensive “on the Job” experience in the electronic security field.
  • Valid driver’s licence, with a good driving record
  • Good working knowledge of PC hardware & be PC literate
  • Experience in a similar customer facing environment working to achieve customer service levels
