Pensions Specific: Product Development & Delivery Officer

Our client is the largest private pension scheme in the UK and in the top 50 globally, with assets of approximately £60 billion (as at March 2017). As the principal pension scheme for universities and other higher education institutions in the UK, it now has more than 390,000 members across more than 350 employers responsible for the management and administration of the pension scheme and its investments.

Responsible for specific complex and standard product developments that are aligned to the companies pension strategy, including production of detailed product specifications that give precise effect to strategic decisions and oversight of product performance to ensure target outcomes are realised.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support the development, prioritisation and delivery of the companies product agenda to ensure the needs of members, institutions and other key stakeholders are met or exceeded
* Ensure the product development agenda is clearly understood by the business and meets the needs of members, institutions and other key stakeholders
* Support the development of products to ensure delivery is aligned to the Pensions Engagement & Development strategy and wider company strategy
* Adhere to the relevant product development framework and associated processes
* Provide key technical and subject matter expertise input to the development and delivery of product options and solutions to ensure the objectives of the proposition are met, are regulatory compliant, based on best practice and meet the needs of members, institutions and other key stakeholders
* Provide input to the development of product options to ensure progress is in accordance with agreed priorities, objectives and strategy
* Produce detailed product specifications that give precise effect to strategic decisions
* Provide input to ensure product solutions are fully supported by strong evidential business cases
* Provide support to the implementation of the product through the business change cycle to help ensure that issues are mitigated and / or resolved
* Provide input and support to the generation of training materials covering new product developments
* Provide input and support to the generation of employer and member communications and other engagement materials relating to new product developments
* Provide oversight of product performance to ensure target outcomes are realised and any refinements or enhancements are executed
* Act as a source of product expertise across the business, sharing examples of good practice and dissemination of relevant information and support
* Make most effective use of own available time. Ensure own professional expertise and management skills are current and up to date
* Ensure constructive engagement with other key business areas (particularly Service Delivery Operations, Group Transformation and Pensions Strategy)

Your Experience:

* Experience of workplace pensions, their policies and procedures covering both defined benefit and defined contribution pension
* Knowledge of pension products and market offerings
* Knowledge of pension scheme's rules and policies
* Understanding of members, employers and stakeholders needs
* Relevant experience in the design and delivery of pension products
* Attention to detail
* Excellent organisation and planning skills
* Strong presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills
