We are looking to appoint a friendly, flexible, professional, reliable and highly organised person to the key role of School Secretary. Candidates must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will need to exercise confidentiality and discretion at all times.

Previous experience of working in a busy school office would be an advantage, but not essential; you will however need excellent typing and IT skills and work well within a team. The ability to be adaptable, prioritise workloads effectively, work to tight deadlines and use your own initiative is also very important.

This varied role includes general office duties, administration of pupil data, secretarial support, liaison with parents, governors and visitors, as well as looking after the pupils (and either already hold, or train for a First Aid at Work qualification).

This is a term time only post, plus 5 staff development days (39 weeks per year). The hours of work are 8.30 am until 4.30 pm 3 days per week. For the right person there is the potential to develop the role to include the responsibilities of the Data Protection Officer under GDPR. This will be explored more at interview and could extend the working week to 4 or 5 days per week.

Furthermore, there is scope for the successful applicant to take on additional minute taking duties if desired,
