We're looking for an experienced communications professional to join our Corporate Communications team in Chelmsford, Essex. You’ll need to be proactive, motivated and enthusiastic with proven experience of working in media relations. You’ll be able to build good working relationships with key regional stakeholders (local councillors and MPs), research, write and edit engaging and creative content for a range of communication channels (film, digital and social media), produce news releases, provide briefings and manage events. This is a great opportunity to develop your existing skills. To be successful, you'll need to demonstrate that you have: A professional qualification (e.g. CIPR Diploma) or a willingness to study towards this. Great influencing skills: able to build good working relationships both internally and externally across our key audiences; providing the guidance, support and challenge necessary to produce results. Strong and creative communication skills, both written and verbal: can analyse complex information quickly and translate it in to simple but effective language; able to write for different audiences and channels and deliver effective campaigns in a fast-moving and reactive environment; some experience of incident management. The ability to be an effective team player: always on the lookout for media and PR opportunities for the business; able to work closely with others to deliver real business results; committed to supporting your colleagues and keeping them up-to-date on priorities, targets and objectives. Highly organised and commercially awareness: you’ll need to be resourceful and resilient; able to manage multiple projects and competing demands. You’ll remain calm under pressure, able to prioritise your time and resources efficiently and effectively to ensure that all your activities and projects are delivered in line with our values.
