Survivor Engagement Co-Ordinator

Our client is the UK’s largest provider of specialist services for victims of all forms of gender-based violence (domestic, sexual, so called ‘honour’ violence, trafficking, prostitution, forced marriage, stalking and FGM). Every day they support over 6,000 women and children in their national network of services. These include Independent Domestic, Sexual and Gender-based Violence Advocacy services (IDVAs / ISVAs and IGVAs), community outreach, specialist refuge accommodation, sanctuary services and culturally-specific services and the Freephone 24 Hour National Domestic Violence Helpline (run in partnership with Women’s Aid). They advise Government and lobby hard to keep violence against women and girls high on the public agenda. They run award-winning prevention and public education campaigns, managing a busy press office and website, and they are an accredited training provider. They give a voice to the voiceless.

They are the country’s largest single provider of specialist support to women and children experiencing domestic violence, rape and sexual assault, ‘honour based’ violence and forced marriage, stalking, female genital mutilation, forced prostitution, modern slavery and human trafficking.

Our client, an award winning national charity, is seeking to appoint to a new post of survivor engagement co-ordinator, whose role will be responsible for ensuring that survivors shape their services and inform their national and local policy responses.

Position: Survivor Engagement Co-Ordinator

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £32,405 - £36,236 per annum

About the role:

The post holder will work primarily with operations, to create an annual calendar of survivor engagement meetings and capture survivor feedback and report on findings. You will be expected to oversee all logistical requirements, ensuring that survivors across all of their services and locations are supporting the programme of activity, whilst ensuring their trauma informed approach is integrated into the programme of work.

About you:

- The successful candidate will demonstrate a good standard of domestic violence experience and other forms of gender-based violence and its effects on women and children.
- Experience of setting up and running service user involvement groups, with ongoing consultation and participation would also be desirable.
- You will be good at building ongoing relationships with colleagues and service users and have well developed oral and written communication skills and effective group work skills.
- Discretion and confidentiality within a sensitive environment and ability to work within professional boundaries is also essential.

You may have experience of the following: Supporter Engagement Co-ordinator, Supporter Engagement, Customer Services Officer, Volunteering, Fundraiser, Fundraising, Customer Services, Account Manager, Events Assistant, Administrator, Co-ordinator, Project Assistant, Customer Service Executive, Administration, Third Sector, Customer Support, etc.

An enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) certificate will be required for this role.
