Relief Support Worker/Care Worker

Our client is a national charity that’s been supporting people with learning disabilities since 1962. They put the people they support at the centre of everything they do and use their experience to work in partnership with them to provide personalised services to more than 2,500 people.

Position: Relief Support Worker
Location: Coleford, Forest of Dean
Hours: flexible hours available
Salary: £8.40 per hour aged 21 and over or £8.21 per hour aged 18-20 (including 12.07% per hour for holiday payment)

About the role:

As a Relief Support Worker you’ll be supporting adults with learning disabilities within your community. In this Relief Support Worker role, everything you do will enable people to have choices about their own lives, creating flexible services that meet people’s needs and always looking for the best way of doing things.

About you:

You don’t need experience as a Relief Support Worker or any special qualifications for this job; what matters most is your positive attitude to life and your desire to support people to live their own life with as much independence, choice, dignity and control as possible. It is helpful if you already have experience of learning disabilities or challenging behaviour but this is by no means essential as you will be given a comprehensive induction, full training and support.

They provide 24/7 support to some of their people; as a Relief Support Worker you can have flexible hours each week, deciding when you are able to work and where, fitting in with other commitments and tenants needs.

A full current UK/EU driving licence is preferable but not essential due to the rural nature of the area.
