My client, Local Authority is looking to recruit Learning & Development Officer in their London Office.

* You will work with the workforce development and learning manager to ensure the implementation of an effective workforce development programme for the family Service
* To work within the Children's Workforce Development Team for the Family Service to provide a full learning and development programme, meeting identified needs, and ensuring that strategies and plans for learning and development are fully implemented. The main areas of work are:
* Commissioning training for the Family Service, evaluating learning needs, and responding to contemporary practice debates, legal frameworks, and policy directives to ensure that all learning opportunities reflect the key priorities. This training covers both internal and partnership programmes, and so the post-holder works with a wide spectrum of staff at all levels and in various professional groups and agencies, as well as with managers and staff within the Children's Service
* Delivering and leading formal training and other learning programmes
* Recruiting assessors and other relevant resources, and ensuring they have training and mentoring to equip them to support social work students on their degree course placements.
* Identifying the learning needs of the Barnet Graduate Trainees and Employment Route Staff, and matching them with a suitable assessor

To be considered for this opportunity you MUST have the following:

Management or learning and development qualification

* Delivering workforce learning and development programmes
* Working in children's social care, or related work area with children and young people
* Identifying learning needs and plan learning
* Developing skills/knowledge of others through planned training interventions
* Evaluation techniques to assess value and impact of learning activities
* Knowledge of professional/vocational training in children's services
* Knowledge of practices and procedures in children's services
* Qualified experienced Learning & Development Officer who can start immediately. Experience of working in a children social care L&D context or more broadly within local Authority environments would be desirable.
* The person must have experience of commission and organising Learning and training‎ events. They should have experience of evaluating Learning & Development activities. It is essential they have good written skills and are able to produce high level, high quality reports as required. In addition the post requires an L& D professional who will be able to carry out training needs analysis (TNA) and has the experience, skills and confidential to analyse information/data.
* Finally someone with excellent presentation and group facilitating skills.
