We are working with a Primary school, who are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant with experience of working with hearing impaired students. They require a Teaching Assistant that can start as soon as possible and continue working until end of the Academic Year.

The successful candidate will have British Sign Language level 1 qualification and a good understanding of Hearing Impairments.

The work will involve 1:1 intervention sessions as well as supporting pupils in class. Previous experience of working with young people with Hearing impairment is highly desirable. It will be expected that candidates will have good quality literacy skills and appropriate educational qualifications to be able to meet these high standards. Previous experience of working with students with Hearing Impairments, plus Language and Speech Difficulties are highly desirable. There will be additional training given for candidates who are successful. The school is supportive and places great emphasis on the training needs of their staff.
Must have:
- Experience with supporting young people with Hearing Impairments/
- BSL Level 1+

Highly Desirable:

- Special Educational Needs Experience in a care or school setting
- Understanding and experience of supporting/teaching young people with Hearing Impairments
- Training in Learning Support.
