Our sister brand, Zephir Lidar is offering a unique opportunity to join a dynamic, cutting-edge industry as a Software Engineer in a growing team of talented, passionate, professionals. You will work as part of a small team responsible for delivering rock-solid embedded software, incredible user experiences and innovative data-analysis & calibration software tools.

The role

Work with industry-leaders in the wind-lidar field to deliver cutting-edge solutions to real world problems using revolutionary technology.

Develop requirements and designs for modular, well-written, testable code.

Develop new and maintain existing embedded firmware on x86 platforms to facilitate capturing and disseminating live wind data from some of the most remote locations on earth.

Develop web interfaces to deliver a high-end user experiences to manage embedded systems and perform data & information analysis.

Develop new and maintain existing software tools to interface with new and existing firmware.

Help shape an ever-evolving coding standard and software process the entire team adheres to.

The successful candidate will have:

Experience in developing object-oriented software written in C++.

Experience in developing web interfaces including back-end development in the python language.

Experience in industry standards and best practice in software architecture and design.

A relevant technical qualification in Software, Engineering, Electronics, etc. to a minimum of ONC/HNC, degree preferred.

Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.

A strong sense of self-motivation with the ability to work autonomously where necessary.

The ability to learn new technology fundamentals quickly.

Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.

A solid can-do attitude and an interest and passion for writing amazing software.

You will be based in a stunning office with like-minded individuals in our newly renovated facility near Ledbury/Malvern at the foot of the beautiful Malvern Hills. Due to the remote location, public transport is not available; as such access to a vehicle is preferred although many staff-members enjoying biking through the beautiful countryside to reach the office. Occasional remote working can be accommodated and a flexible approach to timekeeping is perfectly acceptable within reasonable limits. The site includes a generous kitchen with plenty of space to enjoy your lunch and free tea, coffee and fruit available to all.
