Our client deliverd 80% of Northumbrian Water Group's clean water services across the UK (North East and Essex regions) and this continues to be one of their key strategic relationships. Pipeline Services is also a long term delivery partner for Scottish Water and Anglian (Hartlepool) Water.

Their gas transmission business, Energy Services, designs and builds critical national infrastructure on behalf of the UK energy transmission network owners, including FTSE 100 global utility National Grid.

The Role

To provide technical and administrative support to the Engineering and QA/QC Departments

Key Accountabilities:

* To provide general technical and administrative support to engineering and QA/QC departments paying attention to quality, and accuracy;
* To maintain all necessary records of work carried out by the engineering section;
* To develop, set up and maintain a system to provide engineering manuals, instruction and welding folders for clients, for example bar charts for traceability;
* To scan and upload documents to server for transmittal to head office;
* To liaise with document control to ensure that filing of documentation and its supply is correct to internal procedures;
* To assist the QA/QC department in internal audits;
* To support the QA/QC department with external audits by customers;
* To attend and record minutes of meetings if required;
* To attend meetings, seminars, training workshops and other work-related issues, as required, which may involve working outside normal hours;
* To undertake specific projects and prepare reports for the senior project manager and project manager as required;
* To adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems;
* To complying with relevant health and safety legislation, policies and procedures in the performance of the duties of the post;
* To maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate;
* To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibilities of the post;

Qualifications and Experience:

* Experience in similar role as a Technical Clerk;
* Familiar with steel material certifications and pressure testing documents;
* Good judgement and attention to detail;
* Highly driven and self-motivated to drive for results and continuously improve, confident in leading change in multidisciplinary teams;
* Willingness to work flexibly and learn in a challenging environment;
* An ability to take on new technical information;
* Must be able to manage multiple stakeholders effectively to get required information to carry out this role;
* IT literate with considerable experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook;

Other requirements

* Some travel within the UK to site locations will be required
* Full UK driving Licence
