Our client a manufacturer of exhaust components in stainless steel and mild steel using TIG and MIG weld technology to the required quality and specification. This involves interpretation of engineering drawings and use of jigs and fixtures to aid manufacture.

Responsibilities:

* Manufacture of exhaust system component parts in stainless steel and mild steel
* Manufacture of components to company quality standards
* Manufacture of assembly aids
* Completing works order documentation for jobs processed and compilation of time sheets on a daily basis
* Maintenance of housekeeping standards within working area
* Assist in solving manufacturing problems
* Maintain Health and Safety standards within the working area

Person Specification:

Education and Qualifications:

* A good general education
* Significant welding experience

Previous Experience:

Essential:

* TIG welding
* Comprehension of engineering drawings
* Engineering workshop experience
* Working to established quality criteria

Desirable:

* MIG welding
* Use of jigs and fixtures to assemble fabricated components
* Welding of thin gauge stainless steel 16 gauge to 20 gauge and pipe work diameter 2” to 6”

Personal Qualities:

* Excellent time keeping and attendance
* Work with minimal supervision and under own initiative
* Enthusiastic, reliable, honest and conscientious
* Keen to become involved in improving manufacturing processes

* Have you worked on thin gauge steel? If so what thickness have you worked on?
* If not worked on thin gauge steel, what have you worked on?
* Do you have experience with using jigs and fixtures?
* Do you have any experience with using manipulators?
