A Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Croydon is looking for a teaching assistant to cover a permanent member of staff's absence. This role begins at the end of February for the rest of the academic year and is a full-time position working 5 days/week.

The successful teaching assistant will be required to work 1:1 with some pupils, but the majority of the timetable will be assisting pupils in a whole class situation, with different class groups, covering a range of different subjects.

The PRU is for pupils aged 11-16 years old, who have been excluded from mainstream school mainly due to behavioural problems, therefore someone with experience of working with pupils with challenging behaviour is highly desired.
