Job Title: Infotainment Hardware Engineer

Job Location: Coventry, West Midlands, UK

Job Salary: £30,100-£40,400 per annum (dependent upon experience)

What to expect

Product Development Engineering is the key technical department for the product creation process, leading the engineering from concept to customer. There are three parts to it: Attribute Quality and Process, Vehicle Integrity Team and Vehicle Engineering Management. Working here, you'll give our vehicles their unique characteristics. It's all part of creating vehicles that delight customers and set us apart from the competition.

As the Infotainment Hardware Engineer, you'll support with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing, vehicle packaging and electrical installation. You'll also troubleshoot component and system issues and engage prior to supplier nomination with expert skills to select the best solution.

As well as intensively reviewing electronic circuits, printed circuit board layouts (PCB), packaging, and systems around the component, you'll also provide technical leadership to troubleshoot component and system issues.

What you'll need

As the Infotainment Hardware Engineer, you'll have strong, applied skills in automotive electronic hardware design, along with experience in developing and delivering automotive electronic product, or other equivalent experience.

You'll be able to examine a proposed circuit design and layout, and identify potential issues which may affect reliability, robustness and electromagnetic compatibility. You'll have a degree in Electronics or a similar field, too.

Ideally, you'll have a good understanding of the majority of the following: power supply topologies, interfacing to microcontrollers, power switching, analogue design, digital circuits, EMC, stability analysis, vehicle network hardware, and radio frequency design.
