Our client are looking for a Head of Sales Development who will lead the entire Sales Development organisation. Responsible for day-to-day operations of the team; coaching & performance management, through to strategy & execution. The Sales Development team is the engine of the sales floor – they provide the pipeline needed to achieve the company’s ambitious growth goals. It is a crucial role with an opportunity for huge impact.

The Role:

You will own day-to-day leadership of the largest team at the company. The SD team today is 18 people and spans three functions (Inbound SDRs, Outbound SDRs, and Researchers).

You will be responsible for developing new hires into the future rockstars of their company. The SD team acts as the Sales Academy at – finding, nurturing, and developing world-class salespeople is crucial to this position.

Coaching and development across all three functions is top of your priorities.

You will strive to balance supportive coaching with effective performance management.

The SD’s team success and target attainment is essential to ensure execution of the wider sales strategy.

Constant communication and collaboration with other key stakeholders in the organisation will be constant and vital. This includes but is not limited to: the sales team, marketing team, account management, and senior leadership.

While working with others in the SD team and across the organisation, you will constantly look for ways to optimise and improve existing processes.

You will be responsible for hiring, training, maintaining, and promoting future and current team members.

You will also be responsible for managing a second-line manager who will manage part of your team.

Utilising Salesforce to monitor core metrics, KPIs, and trends is essential to identify areas of strength and areas for improvement.

You will bring:

4+ years of proven sales leadership experience in a high-growth technology business and meritocratic sales culture.

A proven track record of inspiring and coaching young sales team from no-experience to top-performers.

Proven individual contributor success at both in an SDR-type function and a full-cycle sales function.

Experience of developing and implementing best practice sales processes; with the ability to evolve best practice in line with company growth.

Experience managing both high and low performers.

Collaborative manager with the ability to work cross-functionally and providing insight to internal stakeholders business-wide (including marketing, product, senior management and leadership teams)
You are confident and inspirational, balanced with humility and a desire to learn alongside your colleagues.
