Are you looking for a new role as a Maintenance Engineer? Interested in ensuring safe, continuous and efficient running of site operations, plant equipment and all associated site mechanicals through scheduled routines? If the answer is yes, this role is for you!

The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for general buildings and site maintenance. This is an exciting permanent position with a leading speciality, bulk and packaged chemical distribution client.


* Responsible for repair/testing and records relating to site pressure containers, associated equipment (ladders, hoses etc)
* Overseeing maintenance contracts (i.e. Air compressors, Deionised Water plant and Warehouse racking etc)
* Supervision of contractors when on site (Via Permit to Work procedures)
* Carry out site equipment repairs and modifications to plant as necessary
* Responsible for the implementation of Preventative Maintenance program covering all critical plant equipment
* Support site operators and operations manager with regular site safety checks and calibrations in line with routine planned maintenance
* Manage the effluent plant
* Undertake any reasonable tasks or duties assigned by the appropriate line managers from time to time, related to the effective and efficient performance of the job, and providing they are within the post holders skills and ability
* Due to the operational requirements of the site - role may feature elements of on call and emergency callout response by exception i.e. customer requirement, poor weather conditions, force majeure
* Comply and promote all statutory and company safety policies and instigate work practices, which results in a safe and healthy workplace
* Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures
* Key interfaces - Customers, Suppliers, Hauliers, Depot Colleagues, Site management

Qualifications and experience:

* HND/NVQ Equivalent - Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
* Experience in similar role although not crucial the chemicals - experience in liquid process engineering vital
* Ability to plastic and metal weld an advantage
* Working Knowledge of programmable CPU's an advantage.
* Electro / Mechanical Skills essential
* Experience in liquid process engineering in a manufacturing environment essential
* Experience in working in a Safety Driven environment essential
* Experience of implementing PM programs preferred
* Chemical industry awareness/ background preferred
* Experience of CI/Six Sigma Preferred
* The ability to prioritise Safety above all other
* Demonstrate focus, application and work ethic during day-to-day operations timetable
* Prioritise and monitor own workload
* Work within a fast paced, busy environment
* Articulate, numerate and logical
* Problem solving abilities - operational flexibility
* Strong Attention to Detail
* Communicate well with all interfaces and relationships at all levels
